A comprehensive computer program BOSOR4 for the stress, stability, and vibration analysis of segmented, ring-stiffened, branched shells of revolution is presented. The program includes nonlinear prestress effects and is very general with respect to geometry of meridian, shell wall design, edge conditions, and loading. Despite its generality the program is easy to use. Branches are provided such that for commonly cases the input data involve only basic information such as geometrical and material properties. The computer program has been verified by comparisons with other known solutions and test results.
